Solar photovoltaic (PV) panels installed on your roof convert sunlight into Direct Current (DC) electricity. A grid-tied inverter then converts DC power into standard 230V/415V Alternating Current (AC) electricity that powers your home or commercial appliances. Any surplus power generated during daytime is exported to the grid via a bi-directional net meter.
Under the central PM Surya Ghar scheme, residential homeowners can receive up to ₹78,000 in direct bank subsidies: ₹30,000 per kW for the first 2 kW, plus ₹18,000 for the 3rd kW (totaling ₹78,000 for 3 kW and above). Housing societies and RWA common lights get ₹18,000 per kW up to 500 kW.
